News update - August 2005
The LemonAIDS team have been hard at work for the past few months
writing papers and submitting them to high-profile scientific
journals. It may take several months before the papers that have
been accepted for publication appear in print, and some of the
papers have yet to be accepted by the journals concerned, but
here are the details:
Accepted for Publication

M. & Short, R.V. (2005) Use of lemon or lime juice douches
in women in Jos, Nigeria. Sexual Health, in press.
(Godwin Imade has been invited to present his paper in Stellenbosch,
South Africa, and the Mary Magdalene Project will be funding his

*Godwin Imade will be attending thre 12th Priorities in Reproductive
Health and HIV and Third South African Gender Based Violence and
Health Conference from 16th - 21 October 2005 at Spier, Stellenbosch
in South Africa.
This unique annual conference is recognised in Africa as being
one of the major platforms for the sharing of regional research
between researchers, clinicians, programme managers and policy
makers. Topics include HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections,vaccines
(HPV,HIV),microbicides, barrier methods, contraception, adolescent
reproductive health etc.
In addition, the conference has just been adopted as a flagship
for the newly established WHO funded African Research and Training
Network for reproductive Health and HIV (REPRONET AFRICA) which
incorporates many of the major research groupings and institutions
within the African region.
