| Students Partnership Worldwide - Students Partnership Worldwide
invites and enables young people from the developed
world to live, work and learn as volunteers in rural environments
in various developing countries in Africa and
Asia, alongside young, local volunteers from these countries.
The focus of the programme is to work with young people from
rural communities to initiate ecologically and socially sustainable
local responses to problems such as HIV/AIDS and environmental
degradation. The collaborative nature of mobilizing volunteers
from both developed and developing
nations to work together on issues of poverty is a unique
approach that values the experience and knowledge of people
from all cultural backgrounds and walks of life. Participants
are aged between 18-28 to facilitate this peer-led education.
SPW harnesses the energy and enthusiasm of young volunteers
to take part in peer-led programs.
The Australian AIDS Fund is happy to recommend the work
of this fine organisation.

| The
Condoms4Life campaign Bishops' ban on condoms |
| The Condoms4Life campaign, launched on
World AIDS Day 2001, is a worldwide public education
effort to raise awareness about the devastating effect
of the Catholic bishops’ ban on condoms. Through
advocacy and provocative ad campaigns declaring “Banning
Condoms Kills” and “Good Catholics Use
Condoms,” Condoms4Life has challenged the bishops
on their position, educated providers and policy makers
about Catholic support for condom use and mobilized
citizens across the globe to protest the injustice
of this devastating ban. Condoms4Life provides a voice
for people of faith to question these policies and
articulate their support of condom use to prevent
the spread of HIV/AIDS. Join
