June 2005, The Australian School
in Malawi - a pictorial progress report.
They say it takes a whole village to raise a child. In Malawi,
a whole village is working together to ensure a bright future
for their children. |

It all starts with a dream of providing children with a basic right
–education. It is a journey that begins with a man and a pile
of bricks. But he cannot do it alone. |

With the help of the community, a pile of bricks is slowly transformed
into a building of hope. |

Everyone does his or her share. |

No amount of help is too small or insignificant. |

Each person’s contribution is important. |

And with every bit of help, we see things taking shape. |

It’s amazing what the strength of a community and a pile of
bricks can become. |

As the school is made secure with hard work and love, so is the
future of their children. |

Here, a classroom will soon stand where the nation’s future
leaders will be formed and educated. |

It is a school built to stand the test of time. |

And provide children with the most decent facilities possible.

|

This is a place where nothing is taken for granted.
Women must walk miles to fetch the water |

And here, hope springs eternal. |
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,
committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the
only thing that ever has."
Margaret Mead (1901 - 1978)

is ever wasted."
